Day 1. Entry Beijing
Private English-speaking tour guide will meet you in Beijing airport. Then we will transfer you to hotel. Our tour guide will help you to check in hotel. Remainder of the day is at leisure. (Please inform us when the tour reservation made if you need us to reserve hotel room in Beijing). Remainder of the day is at leisure. If time permit, you may walk around in your hotel area and find a nice cafe to enjoy your first night in Beijing.
Day 2. Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Beijing Hutong
Be picked up from hotel at 09:00 am. Our tour guide will hold a pager with you name in lobby. Visit Tiananmen Square -The biggest downtown Square of the world. Walk around in the square. From the north end of the square, we will enter the Forbidden City -also called Palace Museum. Forbidden City is located at the center of Beijing. It was the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Rectangular in shape, Forbidden City is the worlds largest palace complex. Visit the Forbidden City from south to north along the central axis for about 1.5 to 2 hours. After lunch in nice local restaurant, proceed to visit Temple of Heaven. Built in 1420, Temple of Heaven is situated south of Beijing city. It is the best preserved and largest sacrificial building in the world. Visit Temple of Heaven for 1 hour.
After the sightseeing, we will visit a silk shop with a history of over one hundred years. The main items include Chinese silk, satin, cashmere, Chinese traditional clothes and silk clothing. Many famous people had visited this place, such as Finnish President, former British Prime Minister Magnet Thatcher, former US Secretary of State Madeline Albright and world-famous singer Lucia no Pavarotti... So it is worth to have a stop here to buy something as souvenir.
Move on to Beijing Hutong. Hutong refers to the ancient city alley in Beijing. Many of them were built during the Yuan (1206-1341), Ming (1368-1628) and Qing (1644-1908) dynasties surrounding the Forbidden City. Take rickshaw to visit the ancient Beijing Hutong including Drum tower, Local family. Be transferred back to your hotel after the whole day tour. (Lunch)
Day 3. Ming Tombs, Badaling Great Wall Be picked up from hotel at 09:00 am. Drive one and half hours to the Ming Tombs. Located 60 Kilometers north of Beijing, Ming Tombs consist of mausoleums of 13 Ming emperors. Changling is the most famous one. Construction of the Changling was started in 1409 and completed in 1427. Visit Changling for one hour.
On the way to restaurant, we will visit a large scale jade processing factory. There are workshops for demonstration of Jade carving; Five interpreting rooms for us to know the processes of Chinese jade carving and Chinese jade culture. You may also take photo in the huge Jade exhibition hall and buy some jade carving souvenir as you like.
Have lunch in a nice restaurant. In the afternoon, we will visit famous Badaling Great Wall - the most famous section of Great Wall. It is easy to walk along this section of defensive project of ancient China. Take sightseeing on Badaling Great Wall for about 2 hours. Be transferred back to your hotel after the whole day tour. (Lunch)
Day 4. Lama Temple, Summer Palace, Beijing Roast Duck Be picked up from hotel at 09:30 am. Visit Lama Temple -a renowned lama temple of the Yellow Hat Sect of Lamaism, is the only downtown Buddhism temple in Beijing. Lama Temple is also a former imperial palace in Qing dynasty. Then we will have lunch in a nice local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we will visit the Summer Palace -20 kilometers northwest of downtown Beijing. Summer Palace is the largest imperial garden of Ming and Qing dynasty. The whole Summer Palace covers an area of over 290 hectares including more than 3,000 buildings, such as halls, pavilions, towers, etc. Take sightseeing in this attraction for 1 to 1.5 hours. After the sightseeing, we will visit a Chinese fresh water pearl shop near Summer Palace to do some shopping. It a nice place to buy a necklace or bracelet. It is very good gift from China.
Drive back to Beijing city to have Beijing Roast Duck for Dinner. Eating Peking duck is seen to be one of the two things you are absolutely supposed to do while in Beijing. Be transferred back to your hotel after the whole day tour. (Lunch, Dinner)
Day 5. Beijing Zoo, Beijing Planning Hall,Acrobatic Show
Be picked up from hotel at 09:30 am. Drive to Beijing Zoo to see Great Panda. Then we will drive to see the Olympic Village. After lunch in a local restaurant, visit Beijing Capital Museum-this huge hall will show you not only the 3000 years history of Beijing, but also the future planning of this city. Drive to theater to enjoy the Acrobatic show. Be transferred back to your hotel after the whole day tour. (Lunch, Dinner)
Day 6. Free Day You may explore the city by yourself.
Day 7. Departure Be picked up from your hotel and transferred to airport to connect flight.
