Day 1. Entry Beijing
Be met by English speaking tour guide and private vehicle. Be transferred to your hotel. Our tour guide will help you to check in hotel. Please inform us when the tour reservation made if you need us to reserve hotel room in Beijing. Remainder of the day is at leisure. If time permit, you may walk around in your hotel area and find a nice caf to enjoy your first night in Beijing.
Day 2. Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Summer Palace Pick you up from hotel lobby at 08:30 am. Our tour guide will hold a pager with you name. Drive to visit the Tiananmen Square -The biggest downtown Square of the world. Then we will visit Forbidden City -also called Palace Museum, is located at the center of Beijing. It was the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Rectangular in shape, Forbidden City is the worlds largest palace complex. Take sightseeing along the central axis from south to north for 1.5 to 2 hours. Have lunch in a nice restaurant. Proceed to Summer Palace - 20 kilometers northwest of downtown Beijing. Summer Palace is the largest imperial garden of Ming and Qing dynasty. The whole Summer Palace covers an area of over 290 hectares including more than 3,000 buildings, such as halls, pavilions, towers, etc.
Visit a Chinese fresh water pearl shop near Summer Palace to do some shopping. It a nice place to buy a necklace or bracelet. It is very good gift from China. Be transferred back to your hotel after the whole day tour. (Lunch)
Day 3. Lama Temple, Beijing Hutong, Temple of Heaven, Beijing Roast Duck Tour guide will pick you up from hotel lobby at 08:30 am. Drive to visit Lama Temple -a renowned lama temple of the Yellow Hat Sect of Lamaism, is the only downtown Buddhism temple in Beijing. Lama Temple is also a former imperial palace in Qing dynasty.
Visit Beijing Hutong via rickshaw including Local family, Drum Tower. Have lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch, we will drive to the Temple of Heaven -built in 1420, Temple of Heaven is situated south of Beijing city. It is the best preserved and largest sacrificial building complex in the world.
After the sightseeing in Temple of Heaven, we will visit a silk shop with a history of over one hundred years. The main items include Chinese silk, satin, cashmere, Chinese traditional clothes and silk clothing. Many famous people had visited this place, such as Finnish President, former British Prime Minister Magnet Thatcher, former US Secretary of State Madeline Albright and world-famous singer Lucia no Pavarotti... So it is worth to have a stop here to buy something as souvenir.
After the tour, we will drive to a famous restaurant to taste the delicious Beijing Roast Duck dinner in local restaurant. Eating Peking duck is seen to be one of the two things you are absolutely supposed to do while in Beijing. Be transferred back to your hotel after the whole day tour. (Lunch, Dinner)
Day 4. Ming Tombs, Badaling Great Wall Tour guide will pick you up from hotel at 08:30 am. Drive 1.5 hours to the Ming Tombs. Visit Changling, the largest one for one hour. Located 60 Kilometers north of Beijing, Ming Tombs consist of mausoleums of 13 Ming emperors. Changling is the most famous one. Construction of the Changling was started in 1409 and completed in 1427.
On the way to restaurant, we will visit a large scale jadeware processing factory. There are workshop for demonstration of Jade carving, 5 interpreting rooms for us to know the processes of Chinese jade carving and Chinese jade culture. You may also take photo in the huge Jade exhibition hall and buy some jade carving souvenir as you like.
After lunch, drive 20 minutes to the famous Badaling Great Wall - the most famous section of Great Wall, well maintained, easy for travelers to walk along the defensive project of ancient China. Take sightseeing on Badaling Great Wall for about 2 hours. Be transferred back to your hotel. (Lunch)
Day 5. Airport transfer Be picked up from your hotel and transferred to airport to connect your flight.
