Day 1. Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Lama Temple, Tea Show at Crab apple Flower Stream Teahouse
Be picked up by English speaking tour guide from your hotel lobby at 08:30 am. Our tour guide will hold a pager with your name on it. Visit Tiananmen Square - the biggest downtown Square of the world. Take a stroll in the famous square. Then we will visit Forbidden City -also called Palace Museum, is located at the center of Beijing. It was the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Rectangular in shape, Forbidden City is the worlds largest palace complex. Take sightseeing in this attraction along the central axis for two 1.5 to 2 hours. Proceed to visit the Temple of Heaven. Built in 1420, situated south of Beijing city, Temple of Heaven is the best preserved and largest sacrificial building complex in the world. Visit the attraction for one hour. Have lunch in a nice restaurant near Temple of Heaven.
After lunch, we will visit a silk shop with a history of over one hundred years. The main items include Chinese silk, satin, cashmere, Chinese traditional clothes and silk clothing. Many famous people had visited this place, such as Finnish President, former British Prime Minister Magnet Thatcher, former US Secretary of State Madeline Albright and world-famous singer Lucia no Pavarotti... So it is worth to have a stop here to buy something as souvenir from China.
Move on to visit Lama Temple - a renowned lama temple of the Yellow Hat Sect of Lamaism. It is the only downtown Buddhism temple in Beijing and a former imperial palace in Qing dynasty. Enjoy Chinese Tea and watch Chinese Tea Show at Crab apple Flower Stream Teahouse – a peaceful Beijing ancient Siheyuan (courtyard). Be transferred back to your hotel after the whole day tour. Day 2. Ming Tombs, Badaling Great Wall English speaking tour guide and private vehicle will pick you up from hotel lobby at 08:30 am. Drive 1.5 hours to Ming Tombs. Located 60 Kilometers north of Beijing, Ming Tombs consist of mausoleums of 13 Ming emperors. Changling is the most famous one. Construction of the Changling was started in 1409 and completed in 1427. Visit Changling for one hour.
Drive to restaurant. On the way there, we will visit a large scale jade processing factory. There is workshop for demonstration of Jade carving; Five interpreting rooms for us to know the processes of Chinese jade carving and Chinese jade culture. You may also take photo in the huge Jade exhibition hall or buy some jade carving souvenir as you like.
Have lunch and a short rest in a nice restaurant. After lunch, we will drive to visit Badaling Great Wall - the most famous section of Great Wall, well maintained. It is easy for travelers to walk along this section of the defensive project of ancient China. Take sightseeing on Badaling Great Wall for about 2 hours. Drive back to Beijing city to taste Beijing Roast Duck Dinner. Transfer you back to your hotel after the tour. (Lunch, Dinner)
Day 3. Beijing Zoo, Beijing Hutong, Summer Palace English speaking tour guide and private vehicle will pick you up from hotel at 08:30 am. Visit Beijing Zoo to see great Panda. Then we will drive to Hutong -ancient city alley in Beijing. Many of them were built during the Yuan (1206-1341), Ming (1368-1628) and Qing (1644-1908) dynasties surrounding the Forbidden City. Take rickshaw to visit the ancient Beijing Hutong including Drum tower, Local family in old city.
After lunch, we will visit Summer Palace -20 kilometers northwest of downtown Beijing. Summer Palace is the largest imperial garden of Ming and Qing dynasty. The whole Summer Palace covers an area of over 290 hectares including more than 3,000 buildings, such as halls, pavilions, towers, etc. After the sightseeing, we will visit a Chinese fresh water pearl shop near Summer Palace to do some shopping. It a nice place to buy a necklace or bracelet. It is very good gift from China. Transfer back to your hotel after the whole day tour. (Lunch)
