  Itinerary

Day 1: Hong Kong - Guilin
Todays Activities: Airport to Hotel Transfer (Guilin)
Your flight will arrive in Guilin and on arrival you will be welcomed by your guide who will transfer you to your hotel.

Day 2: Guilin
Todays itinerary highlights the most famous scenic spots in Guilin City. We start at the Reed Flute Cave, the Palace of Natural Arts with its remarkable formations which are showcased by truly spectacular lighting. We also visit two of the famous karst mountain formations for which Guilin is renowned. Elephant Trunk Hill standing at the intersection of the Li and Peach Blossom Rivers is the symbol of Guilin and Fubo Hill or Whirlpool Hill has spectacular views of the City and surrounding country side. Lunch will be at local restaurant where you can sample the local cuisine. (B, L)

Day 3: Guilin
Driving west for about two hours through Guilin country side over pretty rivers and mountains, we will arrive on the Dragons Back. The area named for the soaring jagged mountains is home to the Zhuang and Yao Ethnic Tribes who created the famous Rice Terraces that scale the Dragon’s Back. You will have the opportunity to see how these people live, see their unique dress and hear about their customs that have developed over hundreds of year. Their villages which perch high on the mountain side are constructed without the use of nails. Return to Guilin in the late afternoon.
Notes: The day require quite a lot walking
Recommendation for evening optional activities: Foot massage, cruise on two rivers and four lakes. (B, L)

Day 4: Guilin - Yangshuo
Todays Li River Cruise is one of those "must do" activities in any visit to this part of China. The cruise terminates at the town of Yangshou which sits on the bank of the Li River surrounded by beautiful mountains. The afternoon will give time to explore the area which is famous for its shopping. After dinner we will attend a musical and lightning extravaganza "Impressions of Liu Sanjie". The outdoor show set on a 2 km stretch of the Li River is the creation of renowned Chinese director Zhang Yimou and traces the life and loves of a local heroine. (B, L)

Day 5: Yangshuo - Guilin - Kunming
Before leaving for the airport and take flight to Kunming, we will visit some of Yangshous best attractions. Moon Hill requires some hiking but its worth the effort to climb this unusual formation, just for the view. The Big Banyan Tree dates to the Jin Dynasty more than 1400 years old and covers 2000sq mts. We will finish our time in Yangshou with a visit to the sublime Yulong River. This gently flowing river winds through the rice paddies and bamboo groves in a truly relaxing and memorable experience. (B)

Day 6: Kunming
Detailed Itinerary: Yunnan is boasts spectacular scenery and many minority cultures and today we experience both. The stone formations of the Stone Forest were created by the hand Mother Nature to form this amazing karst landscape over the eons of time. The Sani people who inhabit this area seem to have lived here equally as long. There colorful costumes, culture and handcraft are sure to create a deep impression like the area they call home. The Yi people inhabit the Jiuxiang area known as the "museum of karst caves". We will see both the caves and the people to explore all they have to offer. (B, L)

Day 7: Kunming
The Dragon Gate in the Western Hills is close to the west shore of the Dianchi Lake and is one of todays highlights. It consists of the Sanqing Temple Complex and the Dragon Gate Grotto Complex. The many ethnic minorities of Yunnan are the focal point of the Yunnan Minority Village. The variety in culture and customs will astound as you stroll through this village. We continue on to the Folklore village and then the cable car to catch a bird-eye view from West Hill. (B, L)

Day 8: Kunming
Todays itinerary takes us to the Yuantong Temple which is the most famous Buddhist temple in Kunming. In the 1950s, it hosted a grand ceremony to greet and send on the sacred teeth of the Buddha. With a history 1,200 years it is truly fascinating and beautiful example of Buddist architecture set in a picturesque setting. Then on to The Green Lake which dates to the late Yuan Dynasty1277 ~ 1367A.D. The lake is feed by nine springs. The lake provides a very pleasurable interesting and relaxed interlude to our busy schedule and a great way to see the local enjoying the great climate that makes Kunming the City of Eternal Spring. Day 9: Kunming - Chengdu - Mt.Emei
We start the day by transferring to the airport to catch our flight to Chengdu. History and culture are highlighted during todays visits to some of the most important Buddist shrines in China. The Leshan Giant Buddha: in Leshan is the largest stone carved sitting Buddhist statue in the world. We stay at Mt Emei where we will take in the history from one of the cradles of Buddhism. The Baoguo monastery is a highlight. Airport Transfer (Chengdu), Airport to Hotel Transfer (Mt.Emei), (B, L)

Day 10: Mt.Emei - Chengdu
Mt. Emei is our goal today. It is rich in natural and cultural heritage and is called many names "Kingdom of Plants", "Paradise of Animals", "Geological Museum", "Buddhist Celestial Mountain" and "Elegance of Mt.Emei Under The Sun". Cable Car leading to Monastery of Ten Thousand Years. We travel back to Chengdu after fully investigating the charms of this mystical mountain. The cable car ride to the top saves our energy to explore all there is to see. (B, L)

Day 11: Chengdu
China mascot is the subject of out morning as we visit the world renowned Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. Everybody loves this activity and we know you will be the same. Would you like to have your photo taken with a panda, you can. The afternoon will be spent in Ancient Jinli Street where we can soak up the atmosphere of days gone by. There are lots of things to buy if you are so inclined. We will finish the day with the "not to be missed" Magical Face Changes in Sichuan Opera show. Get ready to be amazed! (B, L)

Day 12: Depart Chengdu
Today is the final day and we have left the day free so that you can enjoy some free time before leaving for the airport.(B)
