Day 01: Arrival in Beijing Our guide will meet you outside the baggage claim area at Beijing Airport and transfer you to hotel. The rest day is free.
Day 02: Beijing Visit the Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven. The Beijing Duck Dinner is served at a famous restaurant followed by a lively Peking Opera performance. (B,L,D)
Day 03: Beijing Visit the Badaling Great Wall. To avoid having lunch at shopping site restaurants, you will be driven to have Sichuan food at a local popular restaurant. Visit the Sacred Way and the Ming Tomb in the afternoon. On the way back to downtown, drive by the Birds Nest (Olympic National Stadium). You will see its appearance at a distance. (B,L)
Tips: You may have heard of another section of the Great Wall - Mutianyu. Compared with Badaling, Mutianyu section is gentle with fewer steps and less crowded people. If your travel dates come across the holiday period in China, we suggest you visit Mutianyu section instead of Badaling. Because Badaling section will be congested with people and you would be in no mood for enjoying. The two sections are both majestic and worthy of visit.
Day 04: Beijing - Datong Visit the Summer Palace, the Lama Temple and the Beihai Park. Take an overnight soft sleeper train to Datong. (B,L,D)
Tips: In China, most of the soft-sleeper carriages are divided into separate compartments with four berths - two lowers and two uppers. Probably you may have to share the whole compartment with strangers. If you want to keep privacy, we will try our best to charter the whole compartment for you with the additional tickets cost, but it is not guaranteed, especially in the peak season the train tickets are in great demand. Usually we do not suggest our clients take the train during the Spring Festival and the National Holiday because it is quite crowded at that time. You can not imagine how awful it is to squeeze at the railway station. - Lama Temple - also called Yonghe Lamasery, it is the largest scale and best preserved Tibetan Buddhist monastery of Yellow Hat Lamaism in Beijing. Nowadays, it is the most welcomed temple for goodwill praying among Chinese people. You will find lots of visitors burning joss sticks or lightening red candles here. - Beihai Park - located in the center of Beijing City, Beihai Park is one of the oldest, largest and best-preserved imperial gardens. In this park, you can be absorbed by not only picturesque scenery and long history, but also solemn religious constructions. Whats more, local retired people love to gather here for entertaining themselves. Everyday in the afternoon, you will find many elders singing, dancing, playing the chess, playing the musical instruments or chat with each others. It is a great scene to see them live quite a happy life.
Day 05: Datong Arrive in Datong in the morning. After having breakfast at the hotel, visit the Shanhua Monastery, the Nine Dragons Screen and the Hanging Monastery.(B,L)
Tips: Due to the local limited conditions in Shanxi province, the hotels, meals, even the tour service in Datong, Taiyuan and Pingyao are not as good as some big cities like Beijing, Xian and Shanghai, although we have made great efforts to provide the best. So tourists who come here should be fully prepared in mind.
Day 06: Datong - Taiyuan Visit the Yungang Grottoes. Take a soft sleeper train to Taiyuan and transfer to the hotel. (B,L)
Day 07: Taiyuan Visit the Double Pagoda Temple and the Chongshan Temple. The afternoon is free. (B,L)
Day 08: Taiyuan - Pingyao Drive to Pingyao and transfer to the hotel. Visit the City Wall, the Ming - Qing Street, Ri Sheng Chang Financial House, the Tongxinggong ancient bank safeguard and the Courtyard Residence.(B,L)
Day 09: Pingyao - Taiyuan - Xian Visit the Qiao Familys Compound and Shuanglin Monastery. Drive to Taiyuan and take an overnight soft sleeper train to Xian. (B,L,D)
Tips: It is stipulated by the Chinese Railway Bureau that anyone who picks up the passengers is not allowed to enter the platform, that is to say, they can only wait for the passengers at the exit of the railway station. Hence, you are advised to follow the throngs to the exit and your guide is right outside by holding a banner with and your names on. Please take more care of your belongings because pick-pockets are very common near the Railway Station.
Day 10: Xian Pick you up at Xian Railway Station. After having breakfast at the hotel, visit the City Wall and a local family. The a la carte lunch is served at a famous local restaurant. Visit the Great Mosque and its nearby bazaar area. - Great Mosque - one of the oldest and renowned mosques in China. It is of Chinese architectural style. Inside the mosque there collect the valuable items like the hand-copied Koran from Ming Dynasty and the calendar stone called "the Moon Tablet". It still works as a place of worship for Chinese Muslims. Tips: If you want to taste the Shaanxi flavors by yourselves, the bazaar near the Great Mosque should be your first choice, where is always full of local residents and visitors from different parts of the world. This area is teemed with lots of restaurants, where the barbecues make you mouthwatering, the time-honored Guantangbao (steamed bun stuffed with juicy pork) arouses your good appetite, and the authentic mutton soup with cubed steamed bun by Muslim people is worth your savoring. Once finishing your meal, you may also have a glance at the souvenirs shops if you like.(B,L)
Day 11: Xian Visit the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum. To avoid having the poor food at the site, you will take highway back to downtown to have lunch at a well-known Cantonese cuisine restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. This evening you will be entertained with the marvelous Tang Dynasty Show. - Terracotta Warriors Museum - it was discovered by the local farmers while digging a well in 1974. This accidental discovery made the eighth wonder worldwide famous. Nearly 8,000 pieces of soldiers have been renovated to date. The excavation includes warriors, horses, chariot, bronze, swords, spears, halberts etc. (B,L,D)
Day 12: Xian - Chengdu Visit the Hanyangling Museum, the Mausoleum of Western Han Emperor Liu Qi on the way to the airport. Take flight to Chengdu and transfer to the hotel.(B,L) - Hanyangling Museum - it is actually a joint tomb of Liu Qi, an Emperor of Western Han Dynasty (206BC-220AD) and his empress. In the museum, a large number of figurines unearthed from Hanyangling are very attractive. About 60 centimeters (23.6 inches) high, naked and without arms, they are only one-third as tall as a real human. According to research, when these pottery figurines were just completed, they were dressed in all kinds of beautiful costumes with wooden arms. Inserting the hole on the body, the arms thus could be turned. After thousands of years, clothes and wooden arms have been rotten. Compared with the solemnity of the Terracotta Warriors and Horse of Qin Dynasty, these pottery figurines of Western Han Dynasty appear to be calm and peaceful, just reflecting the harmonious social environment of that time.
Day 13: Chengdu Visit the Giant Panda Base, the Wangjiang Tower Park and the Tomb of Wangjian.(B,L)
Day 14: Chengdu - Leshan - Emei Take car to Leshan. Visit the Leshan Giant Buddha, the biggest carvings in the world. Then drive to Mt. Emei, visit the Baoguo Temple and the Wannian Temple. Stay overnight at the hotel on Mt. Emei.(B,L,D)
Day 15: Mt. Emei - Zigong - Dazu Transfer to Zigong. Visit the famous Dinosaur Museum and the Salt Museum. And then transfer to the hotel in Dazu.(B,L,D)
Day 16: Dazu - Chongqing Visit the Baoding Carvings, the famous Grotto Art in Dazu County. Transfer to Chongqing and check in at the hotel. (B,L)
Day 17: Chongqing - Guilin Visit Ciqikou Old Town and the Residence and Headquarters General Joseph W. Stilwell Chief Commander. Take a flight to Guilin and transfer to the hotel.(B,L)
Day 18: Guilin - Yangshuo - Guilin Enduring memories are created today as you cruise down the Li River to Yangshuo. Upon arrival in Yangshuo, a short bicycle trip to the countryside will then be arranged. You will visit a local villagers home to experience the farmers lifestyle there. Alternatively, you can take our electric car instead of taking bicycles. Transfer back to Guilin. (B,L) - Li River originates from the Cat Mountain in Xing an County, with 83 kilometers (51.6 miles) water line from Guilin to Yangshuo. Cruising along the Li River, you can appreciate the grotesque hills mirrored in the aquamarine water, buffaloes twinkled on the grassland along the bank, local peasant rowing a small boat or raft fishing in the river, which compose such an idyllic scene. Tips: Since the lunch on the Li River cruise can not meet your expectation, we suggest that you have enough breakfast at the hotel today.
Day 19: Guilin - Kunming Visit the Reed Flute Cave, the Elephant Trunk Hill. Take a flight to Kunming and transfer to the hotel. - Reed Flute Cave - a brilliant water-eroded cave. It is a spectacular world of various stalagmites, stalactites, stone pillars and stone flowers created by carbonate deposition. Chinese people are so romantic that they give every formation a poetic and legendary name, such as Crystal Palace, Dragon Pagoda and primeval forest. It is said that there were visitors from Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD) on. In the cave, 70 mural inscriptions derived from Tang have been discovered. Tourists have so much to observe and feel like in a wonderland. No wonder it is known as "An Art Palace of Natural".(B,L)
Day 20: Kunming - Lijiang Visit the Stone Forest. Take a flight to Lijiang and transfer to the hotel.(B,L)
Day 21: Lijang Visit the Baisha Village and a local Naxi family, the Baisha Murals, the Rock Josephs Former Residence in Yuhu Village. You can explore the old town by yourselves in the afternoon. Enjoy the Naxi Ancient Music and Dance Performance at Dongba Palace in the evening after dinner. (B,L,D)
Day 22: Lijiang - Shanghai Morning is free on your own leisure and lunch is on your side. Take an afternoon flight to Shanghai and transfer to the hotel.(B)
Day 23: Shanghai Visit the Shanghai Museum and the Yuyuan Garden. Then for the afternoon activities. - Bund Area - The Bund, located at the central area of Shanghai, is a landmark of the city and a tourist must-see place. Here stand more than 20 buildings of different times, countries and styles. When evening falls, colorful brilliant lights compose a crystal palace, amazing all visitors at home and abroad.(B,L,D)
Day 24: Shanghai - Suzhou Take a morning soft seat train to Suzhou and transfer to the hotel. Then follow a visit to the Tiger Hill, the Garden of the Master of the Nets and the Humble Administrators Garden. - Tiger Hill - also known as Surging Sea Hill, is located on a hillock of only 36 meters (118 feet) in height. Climbing the hill, you will find a number of historical sites, some of which can be traced back over 2,500 years to the founding of Suzhou. The Tiger Hill Pagoda in the park is the landmark of Suzhou city. (B,L)
Day 25: Suzhou - Zhouzhuang - Shanghai Drive to Zhouzhuang, the No. 1 Water Town of China. Visit the Hall of Shens residence. Drive back to Shanghai and transfer to the hotel again. - Zhouzhuang - Included in the World Cultural Heritage candidates list by the UNESCO in 1998, Zhouzhuang truly merits its name as a water town in embrace of lakes. Rivers string ancient residential houses together and the stone bridges connect lanes over the water. Wooden boats shuttle among the waterways. Together with local residences, unique traditions and lifestyle are also well preserved in the township which is highly reputed as the Number One Water Town in China. (B,L)
